Membership
The membership of Stockton American Youth Soccer, SAYS Soccer is open to all
soccer players, (Boys and Girls), coaches, trainers, managers,
administrators and officials without discrimination on the basis of race,
color, religion, age, sex, or national origin.
History
SAYS Soccer was founded in March 2001 by the Real Gold Aguilas as a
Competitive Soccer Club with 33 registered players. By June 2001 the Real
Gold Aguilas Soccer club opened its first summer season with 6 teams (103
players) under Stockton Youth Soccer. In early August 2001 Real Gold Aguilas
Soccer Club (Stockton Youth Soccer) became an affiliated member of a
National Organization. In March 2003 the Board of Directors recommended a
name change and Stockton Youth Soccer became Stockton American Youth Soccer,
(SAYS Soccer).
As a result of the effort of the Board of Directors and
volunteers, the Stockton American Youth Soccer, SAYS Soccer, continues
offering quality youth soccer programs to children in our communities where
they practice and play games in a fun and competitive environment.
Since founded in 2001, SAYS Soccer has provided an
opportunity for players in San Joaquin and Stanislaus County regardless of
economic barriers to compete in soccer. Teams are made up predominantly of
inner-city Latino youth, but include Asian-American, African-American, and
European-American, as well as suburban youth. The diversity of the Stockton
American Youth Soccer, SAYS Soccer creates a synergy and also teaches
valuable long term life lessons to participants. |
